What I wore today: Franklin's Sweater

Today we went to this grange, where we got married back in April, to take some pictures. I lost my engagement ring right after the ceremony, so we poked around in the grass to see if we could find it. We didn't. But that's okay, 'cause it served its purpose, right? Oh, but that would have been SO awesome if we found it, haha.
OUTFIT DETAILS:
button-up shirt: Nordstrom -thrifted
wool skirt: American Eagle -thrifted
black tie: stolen long ago from my older brother (and I think he got in NJROTC, haha)
brown oxfords: Rockport -thrifted
green sweater: Challenger -borrowed from Franklin, but also thrifted!

I love old buildings. Mossy steps & rusty railings. It looks a little neglected, but it's definitely well-loved. The Rexville Grange, ahh. It has so much history, and so many people in the community have a really strong connection to it. I'm so glad we got married here, because now we have a connection to it, too :) huzzah! Someone at the corner store told my parents that the place is haunted, but we haven't heard anything besides that. There ARE some weird orb things in some of our wedding pictures though! haha. Who knows.

What I'm listening to: Black Sand - Jenny Lewis
What I'm drinking: leftover boxed wine from new year's eve, yes!

Have a lovely night, my dears!

  3. Elizabeth, you are too cute! Love the tie/sweater with skirt combo. You pull it off so well! I love old buildings too...actually they are one of the things I photograph the most in my spare time. I used to belong to an "urban exploring" group where we went on abandoned building expeditions. Now life is a little busy so I just keep in touch with them and go on my own expeditions with Daniel, haha. It's so much fun tho!

    2. Hey lady, it was actually a group I found in my area on urbanatrophy.com. Sometimes I play with the idea of getting back to posting on there, haha, maybe some day. It really is so much fun, and like you- I have tried to explore on my own but could only get so far before running out, haha! I will have to post some of my photos sometime. A lot of them are older, but I have a few newer ones, I need to go on more abandoned adventures :)

  5. That still really sucks to lose your engagement ring - and it would have been fun to find it. Wonder if someone ever did find it there. At least you had it up until the wedding! I love this sweater on you - it's so fun to wear the boy clothing, I have a sweater my husband never wears that I love.

  6. You are so adorable, your outfit is the perfect combination of boyish and school girl. I hate to hear you lost your engagement ring, I can't blame you for hoping it will reappear one day.
